As a Christian institution, Stark College & Seminary holds certain core beliefs, often called tenets of faith or statements of faith, that have developed over centuries based on Scripture and church tradition.
The tenets of faith adopted by Stark to guide staff, faculty, students, and constituents were developed by the Association for Biblical Higher Education, with which Stark holds institutional accreditation. The Stark Board of Trustees re-affirms the tenets of faith annually at their November board meeting and all faculty members (full-time, part-time, and adjunct) must agree to the tents of faith before teaching a course at Stark.
These tenets represent our commitment to historic Christian orthodoxy and guide our educational mission. While we have firm convictions, we also encourage intellectual inquiry and diversity of thought within the bounds of Christian charity. Our hope is that students would grow deeper in faith while also sharpening their minds.
