Resurrection Baptist Church partners with Stark College & Seminary to provide classes for the San Antonio community at their church campus. The church exists so that people may know God, discover purpose, and make a difference in their community. “Resurrection has over 40 ministries for members to connect with each other and to the church as a whole,” shares Pastor Ray Brown. “We serve the community in various capacities in order to show the love of God to all those who enter inside and also to those we encounter outside the walls of the church.”
The church holds four worship services, one of which is in Spanish, at two campuses, mid-week services, and various Bible studies and small groups, reaching over 2,000 people each week. “We want to provide a place where families can come from all walks of life and feel loved, safe, and secure,” says Pastor Brown. “But most of all, we want to tell them and guide them to know Jesus and His great love for them. We want the church to be a light for the community and for the community to receive, welcome, and embrace the church as a positive force among them.”
With a mission that aims at equipping followers of Christ for serving others and sharing the love of Christ, Resurrection Baptist Church exemplifies Stark College & Seminary’s dedication to the church and community. “We decided to partner with Stark College & Seminary to give those in our church and the local community who have professed a calling to teach and preach the word of God a place to study in their own community. We also wanted to provide an opportunity for those who just have the desire to gain religious education,” shares Pastor Brown.
If you live in the San Antonio area and have yet to find a church home, visit Resurrection Baptist Church to see if God is calling you to join their mission to serve others. Stark College & Seminary is thankful for their partnership and looks forward to the future of serving the community and church alongside them for years to come.
